1  Complete the sentences in reported speech.

‘I’m having the best day of my life,’ said Sylvia.
Sylvia said that she was having the best day of her life.
1   ‘It’s the first time I’ve seen this film,’ said Maria.
     Maria said that IT WAS THE FIRST TIME SHE HAD SEEN THAT FILM.
2   Hannah said, ‘I’ll call you tomorrow.’
     Hannah told me that SHE WOULD CALL ME THE FOLLOWING DAY / THE DAY AFTER.

     Susan asked her friend WHY HE / SHE WAS LEAVING.
8   ‘Where do you live?’, the taxi driver asked me.
     The taxi driver asked me WHERE I LIVE / LIVED.
2  Rewrite the sentences in reported speech. Use the correct forms of the reporting verbs in the box. Sometimes there is more than one possible answer.

3  Rewrite the sentences using the words in bold.

5  Correct the sentences with antonyms for the underlined words.

6   Fill the gaps with the correct tenses.
